I have lost hours of time and really wasn't that unhappy with v4 to be honest. ![]() It doesn't seem to see any files I have loaded in the Ringtone folder. I can change the incoming call ringtone but that's it. Now that I've done a reset, I seem to be unable to load custom ringtones in this OS. All my app settings, launcher, and custom ringtones were lost. I think I managed to keep my messages, phone logs, and email settings. NOTHING important seemed to make the trip back. After the reset, I did a restore (boy was that a joke). I read some people got this issue fixed with a reset so I loaded up Kies, did a full backup, and then all hell broke lose. Not only is the color scheme in the back end (system settings, pull down menu, etc) annoyingly bright and can't be changed from what I can tell, my battery life was about half of what it was before. I regret this upgrade more than any before. So, in summary, it looks like I'll be searching for a new txt message aggregator and media player -apps that can render useful information in a landscape mode just as well as portrait, and apps that have a dark color scheme for driving. There are plenty of these but I really liked this one the best. Today it finally offered to obtain information from a different feed or something and now it's working. Weather App: For some reason, my weather and clock widget stopped updating. I can no longer see the track list in landscape, and instead it shows me a bunch of "suggested" songs I should chose from if I so desire. It doesn't know how to present the same sort of information as it does in portrait mode. Besides the annoying colors mentioned above, in landscape mode, it's almost useless. Music Player: The default media player seems to act funny now. I will be looking around for apps, and themes that will bring all this to a dark, black background, basic theme within messaging, music, etc that won't kill my night vision.Ģ. Having these pastel, bright color scheme all over the place may be some sort of new, hip look, but I find it annoying. I have noticed a bunch of annoyances with this new OS:ġ. Took a while and the phones got pretty hot but all went through fine. Both my wife and I updated our Note3's via WiFi yesterday evening.
